What limits of coverage are available under the Great American Tenant Insurance Program?

Limits of $2,000, $3,000 and $5,000 are available at a monthly cost of $11, $15, and $23.

What type of losses are covered?

Covered causes of loss include fire, lightning, sonic boom, explosion, windstorm, hail, smoke, aircraft or vehicles, riot, civil commotion, vandalism, sinkhole collapse, falling objects, weight of snow, ice or sleet, limited water damage, burglary and transit.

Notable exclusions include flood, surface water, earthquake and mysterious disappearance.

What types of property are not covered?

There is no coverage for accounts, bills, currency, data, documents, records, deeds, evidences of debt, money, notes, securities or stamps, animals, birds or fish, aircraft, firearms, furs, jewelry, watches, precious stones, gold, goldware, silver, silverware, platinum or photographic equipment, photographs and contraband.

When does coverage start?

Coverage begins when you complete the participation form and pay the first months premium.

What do I do in the event of a loss?

Contact Great American immediately at (877) 836-1555. Report break-ins to the local police. Take photos. Don’t discard property that has been damaged. Protect property from further damage. Keep lock, if damaged.
